We all know that New Year’s Eve is a big night for ringing in the new year, but what many people might not realize just how important it can be to have fun with your friends. Now I am not one to suggest you get together and make resolutions on this day because let’s face facts-we won’t keep them! So instead of going out into town or staying at home watching TV (boring), why don’t we start by enjoying some cocktails? That sounds like an excellent plan.

One of my favorite things about New Year’s Eve is the creativity that goes into making drinks to celebrate. This year, I thought it would be fun and variation on a Moscow Mule with some sparkles! The best part? They are actually easy—which means more time for celebrating (and drinking!).

So we made these fun cocktails. This is a Moscow Mule, but with the addition of champagne and blood oranges! And yes – they sound awesome (and easy) which was all that mattered to us.

The New Year is all about promising yourself a better future. What could be more fitting than an endless supply of champagne, blood oranges and good times? We feel like the party doesn’t start until we’ve opened our very own bottle to toast in celebration! With so many wonderful drinks on offer at your local restaurants or bars you’ll want one for every guest invitation-less event that comes along this year (and beyond). For those looking for something fun yet easy enough even children can mix up by themselves; try iced ginger beer instead regular soda water with fresh lime juice added before pouring over ice.

Ingredients

•           juice of 1/2 a medium blood orange

•           juice of 1/2 a lime

•           1 ounce vodka

•           8 leaves mint

•           2 ounces chilled ginger beer

•           chilled champagne for topping

Instructions

1.         In a glass, combine the blood orange juice, lime juice and vodka. Add the ginger beer and top with the champagne. Garnish with blood orange slices and fresh mint. Drink!
