Margaritas are a classic tequila drink that can be made with many different flavors. This Honey Lemon and Grand Marnier Margarita Recipe is one of my favorites! The sweet and tart flavors go perfectly together, and the orange liqueur gives it a delicious kick. Enjoy this drink on a hot day or any time you’re feeling like something refreshing!

This refreshing and warm drink is made with Añejo tequila, fresh lemon juice. It’s a perfect balance of sweet flavors that will have your taste buds tingling all over!

This delicious margarita is made with Añejo tequila. It’s stronger and smokier than your typical Blanco, which gives it a warmer feel that goes well in complementing the sweetness of this drink-savvy cocktail!

Blanco tequila is the best for making margaritas, but if you want to take it up a notch I recommend using Añejo or Reposado. The caramel flavors will really add some depth and character that’s not too sweet!

How to Make Honey Syrup

Honey syrup is a delicious, healthier alternative to traditional sugar. It’s made by simply combining equal parts honey and warm water in a saucepan over low heat until the desired consistency has been reached (about 10 minutes).

Or make it in the microwave- To make honey syrup, heat 1/4 cup of water in the microwave for 15-25 seconds until warm. Stir in 1/4 cup of honey until fully dissolved. It should be a little thicker than water when room temp.

Lemon-Honey Margarita Recipe

  • 2 ounces añejo or reposado tequila
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce honey syrup
  • 1/2 ounce grand marnier
  • lemon wheel for garnish

honey syrup (makes 1/2 cup)

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  1. To make honey syrup, combine warm water and honey in a glass and stir until honey is fully dissolved. I usually heat water in a glass measuring cup in the microwave for 20-30 seconds and stir in honey.
  2. For the salted rim, take a lemon wedge and coat the rim of your favorite glass. Dip in margarita salt, rotating until coated.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add a cup of ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour straight into the glass with the (now crushed) ice or fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
