Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery
Situated in downtown Gatlinburg, Old Smoky is the first federally licensed distillery in East Tennessee.
Tour the beautiful museum and taste some delicious flavors. Stop by our store to buy your favorite kind of moonshine, such as White Lightnin’ Original or Watermelon!
The first and only federally licensed distillery in all of East Tennessee, Ole Smoky Moonshine has been a popular tourist spot since it opened during the 2010 July Fourth Weekend. Located within downtown Gatlinburg at its original location on Highway 460 (Ole Smokey Holler), visitors come from near and far for this “hideout” that’s just minutes away from several attractions including Dollywood Theme Park & Barnstormers Zip Line Course.
When you arrive at the Ole Smoky moonshine distillery, your sense of smell will confirm that this is where it’s worth going. After passing through a small stream and seeing live music on stage as well, visitors can step away from an authentic working still to learn about Tennessee’s history with alcohol production all while experiencing how their product grows from start-to-finish!
With a $5 fee, visitors to the museum can sample some of America’s favorite spirits including moonshine. You will have an opportunity after your tour at no cost through Moonshine’s store where you’ll find all sorts of inventive flavors and seasonal options! However, you get a $5 coupon towards your purchase… win- win!
