Looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day cocktail? Look no further! This Amaretto Velvet Espresso Martini is simple to make and oh so delicious. Made with just a few ingredients, this martini is sure to impress your loved one. So, grab a glass and let’s get mixing!

Disaronno Velvet Liqueur is a cream version of Disaronno’s famous amaretto liqueurs. Mixed with vodka and coffee in this cocktail, it makes for an amazing after-dinner drink to enjoy on special occasions, like Valentine’s weekend!

While this cocktail is perfect for Valentine’s Day, don’t think that it only goes down as a symbol of lovers’ bliss. You’d be wrong! This tasty treat can also help you celebrate your relationship with someone special on any given day – even if they are not celebrating their birthday or anniversary (ala “special Occasion”).

While we’ve blended this liqueur that was just released in 2020 with both vodka and coffee for the Disaronno Velvet Espresso Martini, it’s equally fantastic served over the rocks as an evening beverage all spring and summer long thanks also to its low alcohol content (ABV 17%).

The recipe could not be easier; only three ingredients (for two cocktails):

  • 3 ounces of Disaronno Velvet Cream Liqueur
  • 1 ounce of coffee liqueur (I used Kahlua)
  • 1 ounce of vodka
  • Chocolate Covered Strawberries for Garnish

All are mixed in a cocktail shaker with ice and shaken until perfectly chilled. We served ours with a chocolate covered strawberry for this Valentines weekend, but you could also simply sprinkle with some grated chocolate as a garnish. Try it in a rocks glass over ice too; either method makes for a pretty and delicious dessert presentation.

I love this cocktail because it has an interesting flavor that you can’t quite put your finger on. The vodka and coffee liqueur play well against each other with just enough sweetness from the Disaronno Velvet Cream Liqueur to keep things light, but not too sweet for those who prefer their drinks less watered down or strong tasting! This is one of those cocktails where I have trouble drinking any faster than my taste buds demand; they are so enjoying themselves while sipping away at first glance unnoticed by me (a common occurrence). It starts out smooth as silk before something intriguing happens.

If you would like to add your own chocolate covered strawberries, follow the instructions below.

  1. Melt chocolate (I used Semisweet Chocolate chips), in a small microwave bowl on medium heat for 15 second increments, stirring between each increment, until melted.
  2. Find the perfect berries and dip them in the chocolate. Lay them on parchment paper or waxed paper and put in the fridge for at least ten 10 minutes for the chocolate to harden.
  3. When you’re ready to serve, use a sharp knife and warm it with warm water or some sort of flame (you don’t want to break the chocolate). Gently cut the berry in half from the bottom, up about 2/3 of the berry, separate and attach to rim of your favorite Martini glass. We always make extra because who doesn’t love chocolate covered fruit!

This Disaronno Velvet Espresso Martini Cocktail would be equally delicious with other summer berries or cherries too…Cheers!
